Join Georgia's best choirs, the Metro Atlanta American Heart Association, UnitedHealthcare, Federal Home Loan Bank, and the Gospel Music Workshop in fighting heart disease and stroke at the inaugural Atlanta Most Powerful Voices Choir Competition. Participating choirs throughout the state will compete for the title of Most Powerful Voices Champion, while raising awareness about heart disease and stroke in their congregations and communities.

To enter the competition, choirs must fill out an entry application and submit a video of a performance. A selection committee will choose 15 choirs to compete on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012 during the live competition at Jackson Memorial Baptist Church in front of a live audience, and a panel of local celebrity and expert judges. Atlanta's first place winner will receive $1500. Second place will receive $1000 and third place will receive $700.

E. Walter Smith & The I’m Catholic Cool Choir to Perform in American Heart Association’s
Atlanta's Most Powerful Voices Competition

As the Lenten Season begins it also marks the beginning of many live performances by E. Walter Smith and the I’m Catholic Cool Choir.  They will be will be performing their signature song, “I’m Catholic Cool”  at select choir competitions and special events during Lent.

The choir is comprised of people from all walks of life…all races…all ages…all cultures… and lovers of all types of music…you know, just like the Catholic faith!

“We are really excited about the upcoming opportunities to perform “I’m Catholic Cool.”    It’s one thing to produce a song in the studio, but because we have blended, Hip Hop, R&B, Jazz, Opera, Dance and Rock N Roll, and Gospel into this song it’s going to be fun for everybody to sing it live,” says Smith.  

The first performance will be at the American Heart Association’s - Atlanta's Most Powerful Voices Competition.

Whitney Houston was simply one of the most respected songstress that graced the stage. She was a true diva with a voice crafted from heaven. Whitney Houston talent's touched the big screen in the blockbuster film Bodyguard with Kevin Costner among many others. She was a rare talent that able to move from R&B, Gospel and Pop effortlessly.

Clive Davis a music industry executive heavy weight and arguably one of the best A&R's in history mentored and brought Whitney Houston to the forefront.

According to Yahoo News "... a somber [Clive] Davis, reading from a sheet of paper, said: "I am personally devastated by the loss of someone who has meant so much to me. She was full of life, looking forward for tonight. She loved music and she loved this night that celebrated music."
